All in all, YFS’s program was designed specifically to help spark a passion within students to see the importance of sustainable practiced in their everyday lives. With a strong team, we have taught hundreds of students within the Bay Area and are always striving to educate even more students nationwide and internationally.

is the cornerstone of our manifesto. Our vision of a world that does not have to be plagued with wildfires and constant natural disasters is what keeps us expanding our curriculum to even more students

is what we bring to the table. With our innovative projects, we hope that students continue to implement our sustainable solutions in their lives

is who we are. We care about what we do. Sustainability is a real issue, and our way of helping is to equip and educate our generation of its drastic drawbacks.

99% of all freshwater is either in the form of ice or located in an aquifer.

On January 17, 2014, Californias governor, Jerry Brown, declared a drought state of emergency as a result of the severe decreasing in the amount of precipitation that California was receiving. Being an environmental enthusiast at the time, I thought I would take it upon myself to do my part and conserve as much water as I could.

That is why in the summer of my 7th grade year, I envisioned an idea to use sand clocks to help my fellow schoolmates reduce their shower times. This experiment was performed to determine if using sand clocks while taking a shower would have a positive effect in reducing an individuals shower time and consequently decreasing overall water usage in a household.

Here at Youth for Sustainability, we believe in providing any individual with the tools they need  to succeed in reducing their water usage and help California become a sustainable state.
